MARIA RAIDER POV.
A knock made me turn towards the door. “Come in.” I called out and took the familiar number of steps towards my bed where I had a bag already packed. “You asked for me mam?” Came Cassie’s voice and I smiled towards her. “Yes dear, you must be cassie, am I right?” I asked and there was silence so I guessed that she must have nodded, and I chuckled. “I’m afraid you’re going to have use your words my dear, I can’t see.” I said and I heard her take in a breath. “I… I’m sorry, I didn’t realise… yes, I am Cassie mam.” The girl said and I smiled towards her voice. “That is no problem and please, call me Maria.” I said and held out my hand in her direction. I heard the soft falls of her feet before I felt her hand take mine.
