Charlaine stepped over to the railing, staring out. "A stirring sight," she said. Spread out to starboard was their modest fleet. The ships were a motley bunch, usually sailing under a variety of flags, but today they flew under a different pennant, that of the Holy Fleet.
Beyond the merchant ships, and slightly to the rear, sat the Vigilant, keeping an ever-watchful eye, lest any of the ships find themselves in trouble.
VigilantCharlaine looked skyward. "The weather is clear. I assume that means we"ll make good time?"
"Looks can be deceiving," replied Danica. "Up here, the wind can shift unexpectedly, and once we"re amongst the Five Sisters, we"ll need to watch for strange currents."
