I stood there, watching from the shadows. I knew of the plan, Colette told me what they were planning to do. She was hesitant about it. She was right, to a degree. It was her idea, but the pretending the boys were going to die thing was all Jade’s idea. Even still, Colette was scared. I told her repeatedly it was fine, the boys were fine, it was her magic controlling the vines. Even still, I made sure I was here. None of them knew, but I watched, monitoring their heartbeats. It was strange, being this close to them. I was here before Colette teleported in with Zain. It was pure luck that I was in the right room, but from then on I wasn’t able to leave.
