{Kaly’s POV}
I wake to the sounds of a machine beeping. My head is throbbing. “Ellie what happened?” I ask and I get no response. “Ellie?” I panic, still nothing. I look to my right, and I see Zayla in a chair and I see Zo in her lap. They are snuggled together and sleeping.
Zo’s eyes look super puffy. ‘What happened?’ I rub my head trying to sit up. Everything hurts and my leg feels super heavy. I pull back the blanket and find a cast. ‘I’m a wolf, shouldn’t this heal fast enough not to need a cast?’ “Ellie?” I call out in my mind again, no response.
