Alaska held tight to Jigger as he raced towards the village. Redgee’s banshee scream had his hair standing up, and fearing what could be happening to their people.
Was there a fire? If that were the case, they needed to make sure no one’s homes were being threatened. Their band didn’t have much for a fire department, but they did have one. Small though it might be. Was the village under attack? Alaska had feared that very thing might happen when the gods had chosen them as the new Council to their world. Could the owl attack have been a diversion so someone could sneak in and take over their band? If that was the case, Alaska would fight to the death, if need be, in order to make sure that didn’t happen. Hell, to keep his mate safe, he would fight the gods themselves.
