I walked along the shoreline to my favorite spot, my sanctuary where I could escape everything. Sometimes I felt suffocated by responsibility.
Watching my mother being blackmailed on my account, powerless to help, only made it worse. It wasn’t just me she was trying to protect; she was protecting what remained of our clan.
