The Hareem
“This room, or others very much like it,” he stated baldly, “will be your home within the Hareem for much of the term of your Contracts. You will be kept here unless employed elsewhere within the Palace, and you’ll find that it has been provided with all the necessities required. In addition, you will be attended by individual Maids. There are well stocked washrooms for each of you, and full make-up facilities have been provided to ensure that you keep yourselves properly turned out at all times.
