"Thank you for agreeing to my request." Marissa said as she followed after me.
"Didn't you say it was your birthright? That's the only reason I agreed."
"This business is the only thing which remains from our father. I naturally want to have a say in it." She replied dispiritedly.
My muscles tensed slightly at her words but I didn't issue any comments. Marissa has always been manipulative in this way. She would discreetly tug on a person's weakness all while victimizing herself. I was used to it now and I no longer felt any remorse for killing our father.
