Chapter 13
Ryan awoke with a splitting headache. For a minute he wasn’t even sure where he was except it was a bed. Cracking his eyes open, he knew it had to be Merrick’s from what he saw of the room. He groaned, closing his eyes again.
“The sleeper wakes.”
“Merrick? What happened? Why am I here?”
“Because you drank too damned much and passed out. I had to carry you upstairs when we got home.” Merrick did not sound happy about the fact.
“I didn’t.”
“Yeah, Ryan, you did.” A hand touched Ryan’s shoulder, and then Merrick said, “I’ve got aspirin. They might help.”
