I know it's all an act

"Are you going to answer the question, Miss Duress?" Ms Riberflen addressed her with a quirked brow and Lacey responded to her in the same way she did some seconds ago- with a glare that boldly told her to f**k off or else.

Luckily for her, the bell rung just as her lips parted and she was about to utter something to peeve her. She was forced to swallow her words by the bustle that followed.

Students erupted from their seats with cheers and packed their belongings up hastily, not a single pair of ears catching the announcement the teacher was making. Only a few cared and Lacey definitely was not one of them, but she needed to graduate this year so she listened for any notification of a test in the coming week. Ms Riberflen was only letting them know of the upcoming science fair and she was glad the announcement was something that did not concern her. Academic competitions were not her thing, as much as sciences were her forte, that was not the name she was trying to build for herself.

Before long, the classroom was near empty, no one was going to stick around for another unnecessary minute yet classes were done for, for the day, that is why she cussed under her breath when Ms Riberflen called out for her before she could swoop past her desk, get far away from this Hellish environment and forget this day ever happened.

"Miss Duress, stay behind, I would like to have a word with you." Lacey stilled at those words, gripping tightly onto her school bag as she observed the last students make a dash out of the classroom. She was all alone with this b***h, unprecedented things were bound to happen. She should have just ignored her and kept walking, that would have been expected of her character. She regretted staying behind.

With a sudden twist, her loose hair swiped the air as she spun on her heel dramatically and faced the nagging woman with a dark scowl, which left her anything but fazed.

"We have to discuss your grades." The woman leaned into her chair, going over some file on her tablet with a sneer like she was seeing something appalling. "You can take a seat or just stand there, though I would sit down if I were you."

Lacey frowned deeply and growled irately before walking around the desk and standing right in front of her. Mrs Riberflen reacted to her imposing stance by lowering her blue- light glasses to the bridge of her nose and rising from her chair.

"I have told you this multiple times, your little games won't work with me, stop acting psychotic, we both know that you are mentally sound, you are just an attention seeker. What, Miss Duress, are you mad because you can't fool me like you fool everyone else?" The older brunette scoffed, brimming with a snide attitude as her arms crossed over her chest.

Now this was getting interesting! oh how they never know what they're getting themselves into!
