Love is a funny thing.
I never had much luck with love. The first girl I ever loved was Maddison Hayes, or Maddie for short. I loved her since the first time I saw her in English class in freshman year. She sat in front of me and borrowed a pen. I didn’t know it back then but what I felt for her wasn’t actually love. It was more of an infatuation. She looked like a young Scarlett Johansson and I love Scar-Jo so much, I was obsessed with this girl.
Ever since then, I made it my mission to always sit behind her and have an extra pen ready just in case she needed another one. I spent four years pining over this girl. I even wrote a bunch of poems and songs about her. I never said anything to her though. Watching her from the far was comforting enough. It was safe. T
