“Let me get this straight,” Mickey said, staring at me along with the others as though I had three heads. “You’re supposed to be on vacation, and you gave us s**t about one measly assignment that cut in on that time. Now you want us to help some guy in your building that you barely know who almost got beat up by thugs, is trying to get away from his criminal-minded family that we know nothing about, and hasn’t said he wants our help.”
