Maria’s POV:
“Is it James?” The old lady got up from the bed and she leaned forward with happiness. I nodded my head in fear of him knowing that I came here.
“What’s wrong?” She asked as the phone kept ringing. “I won’t say anything, you can talk.” She added.
I felt comforted after she said that. I picked up his call and with shaky fingers I placed the phone close to my ears.
“Hi, baby,” He said.
“Hey,” I let out a fake laugh so he wouldn’t notice that I had been crying for the past few moments.
“So are you done shopping?” He asked.
“Yes, you can come pick me, it’s anyway going to take a hour or less.” I replied. I was planning to head back to the mall because a lot of time had passed by and I needed to go back to James now.
