That next six weeks were perhaps the most interesting and somewhat troubling I’d experienced in years. There was a part of me that felt as if I was fooling myself because Roenna had laid down the boundary and I was staying on my side of it but was I just hoping she’d change or had I come to some sort of acceptance? My gay friends certainly thought I was chasing rainbows and I found myself in the unusual position of defending her straight orientation and dug my heels in.
