Devin's POV
Shit. We got our midterm marks back, and I had to prepare myself for a berating when my dad saw them. With our report cards in hand, Danny and I went to the cafeteria. She was sitting with us from now onwards, and I had to admit, it was much livelier with her there.
"What did you guys get?" Danny asked eagerly. She’d been asking me for my own marks, but it was fun keeping her in the dark.
"None to be impressed with," Max said, sighing. It was at these times we were reminded Max was a year older and repeated twelfth grade.
"What did you get?" Ashley asked, her eyes peeking over Danny’s paper.
"I'll show you if you show me yours," Danny said. They switched their reports cards and I leaned to Ashley’s side to look at Danny’s marks. Ashley snatched it back and smirked at me.
