Devin's POV
I was surprised to see Danny wake up with a pale face and shallow breathing. I was positive her nightmares would vanish once she had reunited with Riley and Max. That early morning, I turned off the alarm and sat in bed with her. Screw school.
"What was it about?" I asked.
"I-I don't know," she said. What? She always knew what she dreamt about. "It was so peculiar. It was out of the blue. I never thought I would have nightmares about this person."
"Are you okay?"
"Y-yes. It's not that bad anymore. But this nightmare?" She shuddered. "This nightmare was so…" When she shuddered again, I pulled her into my arms and she didn’t resist.
"It's okay, forget about it," I said. "Are you ready to go to school?"
"Maybe after a while," she mumbled.
