Those thoughts were interrupted as pangs of hunger churned in my belly. I need something to eat and drink, but it was several feet away, totally out of reach. The saying, “so near, but yet so far away” immediately came to mind. I curled up on the hard floor and just waited.
Many hours passed before I heard the interloper return. The fear returned as well.
“Get up, asshole!” she demanded.
I just lay there until she touched my ass with some electrical device. The two prongs of whatever she held bit painfully into my flesh. The buzzing continued as she spoke once more.
