“WHO THE HELL IS THAT?” I asked.
I didn’t really expect an answer, and Thayu gave none. We no longer had contact with our team on the ground. Likely, Evi and Telaris would also hear it, since their ears were better than ours, and they might even be able to make a guess about what sort of craft this was. But we couldn’t contact them.
Thayu sat behind the scanner, twiddling with the settings.
“Can you intercept any of their communication?” I asked.
“I’m trying to find out.”
Thayu had her scanner pointed in the direction of the sound. I could hear Leisha’s voice from her earpiece.
“Is that an aircraft?”
