Madison decided to work from home for the time being. She sent messages to Palladia via Luca and Winter, who would act in her place until further notice. The only word she gave the council was that she wasn’t feeling well, and that it was most likely a human sickness. She would weather it at home and be back when she felt better. Only Rune knew the true cause, and she had promised not to say a word. In fact, she had sent word again to let Madison know that she would cover this "illness" if needed. Madison found the offer odd, and she wanted to distrust Rune on principle alone, but thinking back on the story of Rune losing her children and her affair with a werewolf alpha made Madison think that perhaps she was being genuine. It was hard to tell, and it warranted caution at this point.
