Jude was waiting at the end of the drive on Tuesday morning, and the first thing he said was, “How’s s**t with your dad?”
“Er, usual…why?” Anton asked warily, aborting his idea of getting hold of Jude’s hand and sharing a pocket on the way to school.
“Only this Chris Williams bloke rang up my dad and had this massive go ‘cause I was rude.”
Anton blinked, then groaned. “s**t, sorry, Mum must have mentioned your full name at some point to him. f**k, was your dad angry?”
Jude shrugged. “Not really. Mega confused. Uh, I had to tell him.”
