The discussion Inspector Radwin and I had was finished so I decided to go home. Nikko called so I answered him as I was about to get into my car.
“Hello, boss Tam? Where are you? Are you done with your work?” He asked.
I locked myself with a seatbelt before I take a look at my watch. What else does this monkey need from me?
“Hmm. Yeah. I'm going home. Why?” I did not start the car first and waited for whatever he is going to say.
It was a long time before he could speak, “Hmm. Nothing. I just call to say hello. I just want to check if...” he took a pause and cleared his throat....you’re doing okay.”
I was stunned but somehow I could not help but smile at what he said.
“Thank you for the concern, Nikko. But don’t worry. I’m doing fine.”
