Lencia hurried back to her own bedroom. The housekeeper was there and she expressed surprise that they had to leave in such a hurry. As one of the maids started to pack Lencia’s clothes, a message was sent to the stables to provide them with a carriage. As was usual for the Duc’s guests, another servant was sent to the Railway Station and he would notify the Stationmaster that they would require a private carriage.
