“This is me,” I said to JC when we reached the parking lot of my apartment building. He pulled up to one of the empty spots and parked. I hesitated to open the door as I watched him study the back of my building. “Have you been here before?”
He shook his head. “It’s a good place,” he said. “This area is one of the safest in the city.
“You mean there are dangerous parts here, too?” I asked, suddenly thinking I may have been wrong about this world. This could still be a dream.
“Well for one,” he said to me as he turned his head my way. “There are pick-pockets in the southern part. “There are other crimes of course. It’s the same as other places. So just be careful, yeah?”
