Soon as I put my phone down, I received a call. My stomach felt funny again as I picked it up. It was probably the anticipation to hear the voice of someone. I found that ridiculous at that moment the thought crossed my mind.
“How’s my favorite son doing?”
I had the urge to roll my eyes when I heard my mom’s voice on the other line instead of the one I was hoping to head. I slumped my head down as I asked her what was going on and why she was calling me when she’s busy writing.
“Just checking on you,” she said to me. Her voice sounded amused and I knew exactly why. “So, did you get to find out his name? Do you know where he lives? Do you have his number?”
