A Very Charmed One

A Mermaid's Tall Tail

Up in the attic, we all stood by the book other than Nathan. He stood to the side, away from the book, since he was a demon and he didn't want to be shocked, watching us.

As Piper was flipping, Paige looked up at him then over to me. "Is there a reason why your boyfriend is here?"

"He's not my boyfriend, Paige. He's a good friend, and we had plans to hang out today as friends." I had said.

"If you don't want me here I can leave, if you want." Nathan spoke up.

"No, your fine. After we find this spell, you and I can go find this place as the girls can make the potion." I had said as I looked at Paige.

A few moments later, Piper found it.

"'The Sea Hag is a malevolent magical being known for tempting Mermaids to give up their immortality for the love of a human. She then collects their immortal essence for barter with powerful demons. She possesses vast array of powerful magic, drawn from the brine of the Sea.'" I had spoke. "I feel very sorry for Ariel. I don't know how I would feel or do if I were her. Is there not enough fish in the sea for her to get with?" I had asked.

"Clearly not, since this isn't the 1st time." Phoebe had said.

"Okay, here's the spell we say." Paige said as she written down the spell on little papers to give to us.

"'Powers of the witches rise,

Find the hag who speaks in lies

Balance chakra, focus chi

Lead us through the cruel, cruel sea.'" We all said together.

As we all looked around seeing if one of us, or mostly Phoebe would turn when I felt off. As I looked down, I saw my legs change into a tail and I was falling. Nathan ran to me and caught me before I hurt myself.

"Seriously!" I had said.

"Ha!" Phoebe laughed. "Just glad it wasn't me this time.

"But why me. My heart isn't cold. I have no one to love." I had said.

After talking that over, Nathan had shimmered with me to the ocean, dropping me.

"Ow," I said.

"Sorry, you were heavy and slippery." He had said.

"Its fine. Why did it have to be me. Why didn't I see this coming." I had asked.

"Maybe it was meant to be. You are the one she came to." He had said.

Which made a very good point. When it happened to Phoebe, that mermaid came to her. So maybe the spell didn't back fire like we think it did. Or I'm just an i***t and it didn't backfire.

Nathan done and said anything to try to calm me down and cheer me. After we had talked about it, Leo and the girls showed up. Phoebe still laughing about how it happened to me then her.

"Take a picture, maybe it'll last longer." I had called out to Phoebe.

"Oh I am, so Prue can see this." Phoebe said smirking.

I rolled my eyes and looked out towards the water then back to the others. "So, now what?"

"Well when this has happened to me, I went out for a little swim to smell out the hag then followed it." Phoebe told me.

"Ugh, I can't even swim that well and y'all making me do this crap."

"Hey the spell did to you not us." Paige had said.

"Just do it, Heather. She's your innocent, we have to save her." Piper said.

"Look, if anything bad happens just call out for me or Leo." Paige said.

"Or even think of me and I'll come as well." Nathan said. "Just be careful."

I looked at Nathan and smiled. He did care for me a lot I might add. But I don't know how I feel about him.

I nodded at them then turned towards the water and dove under. I done what Phoebe had said and I got a good smell of the hag and followed it.

As I was swimming, I ran into the most beautiful sea creatures I've ever seen. A few dolphins swam close to me. Let me pet them as well, which in my mind was really cool. They stayed close by until I got close to where I was going. When I got to the opening, they swam away.

When I popped my head out of the water, I saw Ariel holding a little girl in her arms, in a seaweed wrapped cage, as the hag was doing something.

"Ariel, when we met 6 years ago, when you had asked me for legs so you can meet your innocent prince charming, that you saved from a ship wreck that you cause, by the way. I gave them to you. And what did I tell you."

"That once we met and fallen in love you could take my immortality or even my child's." Ariel had said. "But I change my mind. I'm sorry, I am going back on my word. You can take my legs, I'll keep the tail." Ariel pleaded. "You can't take my daughter, she's the only thing I have left from Eric after he died."

"Not my problem. A deal is a deal, so now which is it going to be?" The sea hag asked as she turned around. "Legs or tail of you or your daughter? Or even both."

That was my cue to call for back up. I had called for Leo and thought of Nathan. After a few moments they all showed up. When they orbed in, the sea hag turned fast towards us. She was pissed.

Leo went over to Ariel and her daughter to get them out as the sisters fought the hag. When she saw me, she threw something my way and got me. I went under, slowly being pulled to the bottom.

I thought my life was fading until I saw something swam towards me and saved me. But that didn't stop me passing out for a second. I came to when I felt air and the sun on me. When I opened my eyes, I saw everyone on the beach. Ariel holding her daughter, looking at me. They smiled when they saw I came to.

"Heather, your a wake." Ariel said.

Nathan looked at me and smiled. I smiled at little and tried to get up but forgetting I didn't have legs.

"Hey, how you feeling?" Piper asked.

"Like hell."

"Well yeah, you got shot with a electric water ball of some sorts." Paige said.

"The hag?" I asked.

"Nathan, killed it after you got shot." Leo said smiling as he looked at Nathan. "But I can't heal you. Your not human."

"What? How can I go back to being a human?"

"Confess your love." Phoebe and Ariel said at the same time.

"To who?" I asked.

"To the one you love the most that you've been hiding for awhile now." Ariel explained.

That was only one person that was meant for. Nathan.

Yes, I was falling for him. But was he the one. Was it gonna be like how Phoebe and Cole was or will it be different.

I didn't want to be like them, when I have to keep looking over my shoulders that he was gonna kill me one day.

"Whatever it is, we stand with you no matter what." Piper had said.

I nodded at her than looked at Nathan. I grabbed his hand and took a deep breath. "Here goes nothing." I thought to myself.

"Nathan, I do like you a lot. I think more than a lot. But I don't want to keep looking over my shoulders to see if your gonna kill me and my family. I don't want us to be how Phoebe and Cole were. I want a life where, I know who I love and who I'm coming home to. Where he loves me as much as I love him. So Nathan, yes I do love you," I said as the tail went away and I had legs again. As he helped stood me up and covered me up with his jacket. "I want to try this out if you want to?"

"Heather, I've been waiting for you to say those words since I've known how I felt about you. I've told you and the sisters, I'll never be Cole and I'll never hurt you. And if I do, you can kill me."

I nodded my head at him then reached up to kiss him on the lips. I felt like this wasn't gonna be the end of this. This was only the beginning.

Leo orbed Ariel and her daughter back towards their house, after she had explained everything to us. How she found love then lost it all in time of giving birth. There was so much she could do but she does it. She has the chance to have the legs and the tail when she wants to and since her daughter is part of her and human, she can do the same.

Paige orbed her and the sisters back home as, Nathan and I sat on the beach and watched the sun go down as well talked about what was gonna happen from here on out. We both agreed on what we want in this and how we both said if things get to bad that we stop.

I don't want to be like Phoebe and get to far into it that I'm gonna hurt myself. Love is a strong thing and its perfect when it wants to be.
