Chapter 14Tuesday morning
Reggie awoke at eight-thirty to the sound of the hedge trimmer. He looked out the window. Mark was below the bedroom, his face scrunched up in concentration as he shaped the hedge. Reggie smelled coffee. He took a shower, dressed and went down to the kitchen.
“It’s about time you got up. That man of yours has been working outside since seven. Call him in so he can take a shower and eat breakfast. Any more trimming can wait until tomorrow. I know what he looked like in the hospital and I don’t want to see him look like that on my watch. What do you want to eat?” Cecily poured Reggie a cup of coffee.
