Panic took sleep from my eyes, sending me flying out of bed in the dead of night. The house had no lighting and I had no night vision so I kicked against something as I jumped out of bed. My heart racing coupled with the brush of something against my leg made me scream, scrambling away. Then I remembered I had a fur coat lying around. There was no cause for alarm but I could not see and darkness and I never saw eye to eye.
What was happening? I could swear I heard someone call my name but it felt more like a dream than reality. The house was a graveyard at that hour. The sky held a half of a moon and the pitter-patter of my heart refused to calm. I looked around, swallowing quietly as I inched forward as if I not to alert the nightmare plaguing me that I had risen.
