POV: Zoey
The doorbell distracted us from our fitting and fun time together. Sebastian stepped out fur a few minutes, and he left Natalie and I to get ready. Natalie called out to the maids, asking them to hurry up and get the door before Rosie gets upset again. With the way she sounded, it’s obvious that she doesn’t want to upset this Rosie person and that made me curious.
“Who is Rosie?” I asked her curiously, my eyes fixed on the entrance to see the visitor that is causing such a fuss.
“Rosie and I are best friends. We grew up together around here and we are more like sisters because I never had a sister. I spend more time with Rosie than I do with my brother Sebastian. She has been such a good friend and I love her so much. Don’t worry, I’ll introduce you two, I’m sure you would love her. Just look past her redness and ignore her pride and laziness. If you can do all this, I’m sure that you two would be such great friends.” She let out with a smile as Rosie walked towards us, dressed in a white bumshorts that shows her ass cheeks and a cute purple top.
“Take my outfits to my room, and try not to smear my dress with your stench. It’s worth more than your life.” She instructed the maids that were following her with her outfits for the party. She said these things should be taken to her room and that made me wonder if she stays here with Sebastian. Does she not have a house?
“Hi, darling,” she called out to Natalie, kissing her cheeks warmly before turning me with a murderous glare.
“And, who the hell are you?” she asked me sternly, eyeing me furiously as if I am not meant to be here by her side.”
“Behave, Rosie!
If Sebastian finds out that you harassed his girlfriend, he will not hesitate to throw us both out of his house!” Natalie scolded her furiously. She gasped in shock as if she couldn’t believe that I am Sebastian’s girlfriend. She glared at me dangerously, not hiding her obvious hatred for me.
While we tried on our clothes, Rosalie kept eyeing me with hatred in her eyes. I tried as much to avoid her, trying to keep away from her path and staying mute when she’s having a conversation with Natalie. Her friendship with Sebastian and his sister only complicated things. She hated me the very moment she laid eyes on me, even before she found out that I was in a relationship with Sebastian. And she wasted no time in showing me her true attitude.
When no one was around, she bullied me and acted like the victim, making it look like I hated her. She was mean and rude, but pretended to be cordial and friendly whenever Sebastian and Natalie were present. It was infuriating to witness. I had to pull Natalie aside and ask her why Rosie was treating me like an enemy. It was then that Natalie confessed to me that Rosie loved Sebastian and wanted him for herself, which only made the situation worse for me.
Finding out that Rosie loves him should be a deal breaker to me. But I found myself drawn to Sebastian more and more. He was charming, attentive, and whenever he was near, I felt this wave of safety pass over me. He showered me with affection and made me feel valued, not just as Jason's sister, but as Zoey, a girl he truly loves.
I finished my fitting and went into the kitchen for a quick snack. But then there was the shadow of Rosalie looming over me. She followed me into the kitchen and stood by the door, glaring daggers at me. I wanted to simply ignore her, but she wouldn’t let me get out of this without a fight. She would always make snide comments whenever she found an opening.
“Oh, Zoey, I wonder how you plan to manage Sebastian’s lifestyle. I mean, he’s such a busy man,” she said warmly, her eyes sparkling with delight at the chance to undermine me.
“It’s simple, I guess, I’m getting used to his busy schedule and I’m adapting quickly” I replied, not wanting to give her the satisfaction of seeing me flustered.
“He seems to enjoy having me around too, so that makes it way easier to spend some time with him when he’s around.” I told her, returning her smile with one of my signature cutie smiles. She scoffed,
“Well, let’s hope you don’t become too much of a burden, then.” She accused, sounding cynical. Each encounter with her chipped away at my confidence, but I refused to let her win. I could feel the contract in my pocket, a tangible reminder of what I was working toward. I needed to focus on Jason, my family’s future, and the hope I felt with Sebastian.
He said he was going out for a few minutes. I waited for him to come back home, but the minutes soon turned to hours and he still wasn’t back. I went to his room where I’ll be sharing with him. I was just about to take a quick nap when I got a message from him asking me to get ready and he’ll be back to pick me up for the party. I smiled as I heard the soft knock on the door. The stylist came up the moment I received his message, so I’m assuming that he called them to come up and get me ready for the party.
“Gosh, you look so beautiful!” Sebastian let out proudly when he finally got back. He didn’t mind the heavy makeup on my face as he kissed me passionately, telling me how I’m the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen in his life. He got dressed in record tube and we both left the house together in his car.
I attended the party with only Sebastian. We left Natalie and Rosalie at home because they were taking too long to get dressed. While Sebastian discussed business with the some guests, I decided to move around a little and familiarise myself with the guests. It was when I was wandering around the huge banquet hall that I encountered Jane and Donald, looking quite classy and rich. I guess they have started spending my money already.
It’s not surprising that they would adopt an expensive lifestyle now that the company is under his control. They have always used my money to look rich, I should be used to it already. But seeing them looking so cute together made me feel heartbroken all over again. She is wearing a limited edition designer outfit that cost a fortune. Her bag and shoes, coupled with her jewelries are also very expensive, they are all designers.
Donald is also looking classy and cute in his very expensive designer tuxedo. They spent quite a fortune to be here today, and it hurts to know that it’s all my money, they are spending my inheritance so lavishly, something I never did. I will not let them get away with this. When I take back my inheritance, I’ll make sure I take back everything from them, down to the last pin.
“Who let you in here, Zoey, and how did you get an invitation?” Jane asked me the moment she set her eyes on me.
“Hold on while I get security to throw her out. Weren’t you told that this party is strictly on invite?
How did you get in here, looking so good, where did you steal that outfit because I know that you cannot afford it?” she continues, attracting attention to me, making me feel awkward.
