The nurse was checking my vitals and I could see dad on the corner drinking coffee and reading a newspaper. He hasn’t left my side all day and I was thankful for it. The nurse finished and headed out of the room.
“Dad, you need to go home. Rest and eat something, I am fine here” I said. He looked up and I could see his tired face and bags under his eyes.
“I won’t leave you alone. You’re my son and the company is running very smoothly without me there. I am keeping track of the stocks on my phone so no need to worry” he replied, putting his glasses back on and resuming his reading obsession.
“You should really go home, John” I heard her soft voice come through the door. Dad looked up and he knew he couldn’t resist obeying her. He picked up his things.
