“Your turn,” Sarah said, handing the cane to her friend.
Taking the instrument, Jane realized how pleasing it was seeing the six red lines on Lea’s bottom. Another six applied just below these was what she planned. Taking her place to one side of her employee, Jane took careful aim as she had seen Sarah do.
“Count,” she reminded Lea.
On the count of seven, Jane landed a cut exactly where she planned, right below Sarah’s first. She was aware that this was not as fierce as Sarah’s had been, but that was suitable for her first time with the cane. Besides, she knew Lea was reaching her limit.
