have to let go

I dragged Malik along with me and walk as fast as my leg could carry me.

"You are too fast ". Malik complained. but I totally ignored him.I will deal with him when we get home.

When we got home lali was at the door waiting for us

"Thank goodness I was really scared ".she said those words while taking Malik away from me

"Where were you ".she asked Malik with a worried voice. I swear, lali is spoiling this kid.

I left them and went inside .when I got inside, I hissed and sat on the chair

"Is everything alright?".dean asked

"I saw him "I spoke up without looking at him

"You saw who ?".lali asked from the door. I closed my eyes and his image flash to my memory .he still as handsome as he was three years ago .his green eyes, those eyes that always weaken my feet whenever I stare at him. his black thick hair that I always wish to feel and touch. Everything about him speaks dominance and I always feel little whenever I'm close to him, which I love so much.I hissed in frustration when I realized he still has those effect on me.

"The emperor is really nice, he gave me some fruits". Malik voice brought me out from my thoughts.I opened my eyes and saw the shock look in Dean and lali faces.

"Really ".dean asked while caressing Malik face.

I look at lali and saw the concerned look in her face

"Come on let's go in and play ". Dean spoke up while taking Malik along with him

When they left I hissed in relief and closed my eyes

"What did he say when he saw Malik ".lali asked

"He said nothing ". I replied her with my eyes still closed

"Nothing?".she asked.

I was quiet for a while before I opened my eyes

"Nothing as in, he is too blind to see that Malik is a clear resemblance of him ". I spoke in anger

Lali noticed my mood and moved closer to me .she place her hand on my shoulder and started comforting me

"You should just forget about him ".she spoke up with so much care in her voice."you've been doing well without him, and you can still do better without him "

"Yes you are right ",. I whispered

She stood up and smiled at me.

"We should prepare lunch ".she told me and walk towards the kitchen.I stood from the chair and followed her to the kitchen.

We prepare lunch in silence until we were done.

I prepared the table while lali brought in the food .in no time we were all seated at the table.

Malik has been talking about the emperor and how kind he is. I wanted to shut him up,, but dean signaled me to let him be .he kept on talking about the emperor with a big smile on his face. I hissed in frustration and kept on eating

"Mom do you know we have the same eyes ".he spoke up while taking a spon of his food in his mouth. I stare at him but refused to speak up

"And we also have the same hair".he spoke up with so much smile on his face.still I ignored him and kept on eating

"I hope my dad looks exactly like him ". He said those words looking directly at me.I look at him and noticed he wanted me to speak.maybe he wanted to me to assure him that his dad looks like the emperor .but I was speechless and did not know what to say

"You dad looks better than him".lali spoke up while caressing Malik cheek. he chuckled and went back to his food. Finally, the table was quiet.lali smiled at me before going back to her food. after lunch Malik went to bed with Dean while me and lali sat outside.

"You think he will come look for us ". I asked lali

"I'm not sure, did he ask you about the guard ?".she asked

"No"

"Then he won't come here".she spoke in an assuring voice.

We were both quiet for sometime before she spoke up

"If he gets back his memory of that night, will you get back with him ".she asked while staring at me.

To think about it, I haven't really thought about it .what will happen if we eventually have those memories back and everything turns out that Malik was indeed his son .will I want to go back to the palace and be with the emperor who never believed me and was in a hurry to get rid of me .he never loved me but was only concerned of his child.

"No", I spoke in a whisper."he never wanted me in the first place, he wanted the child".

"And Malik, will you let him go ".she asked

Then I realized Malik is a prince and might eventually be the king, and if it happens that the emperor knows about it, he will take Malik away from.me, and I won't be able to do anything about it.

"I won't let him take my child ". I spoke up with anger

"And how do intend on doing that".she asked in a doubting voice

"Time will tell". I spoke with so much confidence in me. I won't let him take my child after all I went through,, and I will make sure if that.
