Kali's POV:
I had a show a week ago. It was good, but I don't think people were there for my singing. Most of the clients of the place were older males. I have nothing against this. The thing is that I didn't sing for their money. One man started throwing one-dollar bills at me. I collected everything and gave it back. I don't take money like that. No, thanks. This doesn't mean I didn't get paid. Next time, I will check the place carefully. My manager and I decided it would be a good idea to have a small tour. I call it a mini one. That's why I will sing in seven cities. This will be a preparation for the big one. I have no idea when I will do it. Well, I like traveling around the world. Seeing so many people who came only for me makes me happy. I have a young audience, but this is not a problem. I have people my age coming to see me. The meets and greets are the best part. You have no idea how many gifts I receive from my fans. I used to have a P.O. box, but I shut it down. I had to pick up the mail every day. It was too much for me. Now, I don't need this. I can open it again, but it will be overflowing. Also, someone has to open these things. That won't be me, for sure. I don't have time for this. I hope that the mini-tour will be successful.
My small tour will start after a week. If you think I'm doing this for money, you are wrong. I have enough. I love traveling and meeting people. This is the reason why I am doing it. Of course, my best friend will come with me. I need my assistant. I'm not sure about Bryan. He has classes. Unlike me, he is at university. This doesn't mean he won't come to a few of my shows. I will invite him. He can be my special guest. I planned to drop my next song, but I will leave it after I finish the tour.
I went to the studio an hour ago. I wanted to practice the choreography for the tour. I have a few dancers who join me. They became my second family. I spend a lot of time with them. We don't practice all the time. After all, we need a rest. I don't mind, but I don't want my dancers to think I'm torturing them. Each show will be an hour long. I have put everything on my website. Well, Jess did. I don't have time for this. I don't know what I would've done without her. She is great.
- Break time. - I said
- Thanks. I got tired. - Alyssa said
- I'm sorry, but I want to master this.
- You are perfect. If you stay in one place, fans will still love you. - she said, and I laughed
- I know, but I want to improve.
- You can add more shows. - Danny said
- Yes, but I will leave this for the next tour.
- How big do you want it to be? I can see your ambitions. - he said, chuckling
- In every continent.
- You have fans from Africa, but you know the continent is a bit poor. How many people do you expect to come?
- I have something in mind for this.
- What is it? - Jasmine asked
- All the money from the concerts on the other continents will be used. People from the countries in Africa can come to my shows.
- Do you want to make them cost nothing?
- Something like this.
- It sounds like you give them money, which they will give back to you.
- Yes. I didn't think of that. I will do something else.
- People there are poor. Instead of free tickets, use the money to make donations.
- That is a good idea. We don't need to give them money. Kids will receive toys, and we can buy food and clothes.
- I don't want to break the bubble, but when will we rest? You, too.
- I have no clue.
- You love tours, but you need a rest.
- I will think about this.
- I have nothing against the tour. The idea is perfect, but can you do it? I mean, physically?
- No offense, but you want more than you can do. It's not impossible, but it will be hard. - Alyssa said
- I agree with them. Think about yourself. - Jack said
- Fine. The tour won't be that big.
- It's your decision. We'll always be with you.
- Thanks. It's good to know. Let's continue now.
- Yes, miss.
We danced for another hour before I went to get us lunch. When it comes to my job, I am a workaholic. I want everything to be perfect. I mean, from the song to the choreography. I gave everyone their food. This will be our break. I might let them go home for the afternoon. I will stay here to work a bit more. I have one song ready. The thing is that I planned to record a different version. This time, it won't be an acoustic. I don't want to do this all the time.
- Kali, what are you thinking about? - Danny asked
- What?
- Where is your head?
- Where should it be? She is always working. - Alyssa said
- Guilty. - I said, and they laughed
- No one will take what you love, but you need a rest. Bryan is not liking it, either.
- I wonder what he likes.
- What do you mean? - Jasmine asked
- Lately, he has been mad at me for working a lot.
- He is your boyfriend. The boy only wants to spend more time with you.
- I know, but I have to work.
- Kali, music is not everything. Think about the people around you.
- Jess is not complaining.
- Because she is always with you. I mean, she is your assistant.
- Can we talk about something else?
- One day, you will realize how many things you have missed because of working.
- I don't want to think about this.
- What is the plan for the afternoon? - Jack asked
- You can go home. I have some things to finish here.
- We can stay with you.
- Thanks, but there is no need for that. I'll be fine.
- Call Bryan and go out with him tonight.
- I'll see if I have time.
- If you have time? Kali. - Alyssa said
- I know. Let me deal with this alone.
- He won't wait forever.
I prefer not to talk about my relationship with everyone. They aren't wrong, but I want to focus on my career. This doesn't mean I won't be with my boyfriend. The rest of the afternoon I spent in the studio. I had some work to do. Later, I went home. Jess was preparing something. I sat next to her, but she didn't say anything. Please tell me she is not mad at me for something. I didn't do anything to her. There is one way to find out.
- Hey, are you ok?
- Yes.
- Are you sure?
- Yes.
- Will you answer with more than one word?
- No.
- What did I do to you? Are you mad at me?
- Bryan keeps complaining about you. Fix your problems without involving me.
- I didn't do it.
- I know you are busy. It's not like he isn't. This doesn't mean your relationship should be a backup plan.
- It's not.
- No one takes care of me the way he does for you. Kali, you are so lucky.
- I planned to go out with him for dinner.
- He will like it.
- Can you tell me what we can do? I don't want to eat only. We used to go to places, but they didn't seem that good anymore.
- Take him on a walk around the town and stop by the fountain of wishes.
- Will he like it?
- He will love it.
- From where do you know that?
- He mentioned it once while he was here. I think you should listen to him more.
- True. Lately, I have become too busy.
- Why are you working so much? No matter what you do, your fans will love it.
- Yes, but it's not enough. I want to be better than myself.
- Is that even possible? - she asked, chuckling
- This is what I have to find out.
- Good luck. You need a rest. He can help you with that. If you want, I will go out.
- There is no need for that. We'll be out. He might only send me home.
- It's better than nothing.
I called Bryan and asked him out. He agreed, but he didn't sound happier. I know he is still a bit mad at me for that. I went to get ready. I'm not the biggest fan of too much make-up and fancy clothes, but I might do it today. After all, it's a date. I'm not hiding my boyfriend. When I was ready, I waited for him. Jess wanted to take pictures for my i********:. I told her this would be for a story. I prefer my regular pictures to be from shows and the studio. Of course, I have a few with Bryan and her.
- It feels like forever since we haven't been out.
- I'm sorry about that. I focused too much on my work.
- You did, but it was for good. People love what you do.
- The little satisfaction I have.
- It's still something.
- What are your plans for the rest of the night?
- I don't have any. Why?
- We can go for a walk and later to the fountain of wishes.
- What? Jess said it, didn't she?
- No.
- Kali.
- Maybe.
- I was saying this from a movie I watched. I said that I liked it but with sarcasm. Maybe she didn't understand that.
- To understand it was a failure.
- No, we can do it. I might change my mind.
- Are you sure? We can do something else.
- There is no need to.
- How about dinner? I'm getting hungry.
- Did you eat something today?
- Yes, I did. We did the choreography a few times.
- You are overworking yourself. At one moment, your body will give up on you. This will be when you need it the most.
- I have to work.
- Ok, but you have to rest as well.
- You don't need to remind me this all the time.
- I think I do. Otherwise, you won't listen.
- Oh, look. Food. Let's go.
- This is not the end. I'll pay for the dinner.
- Are you sure?
- I know you have more money than me, but I'm not broke.
- I never said that.
- Let me take care of this.
- Fine. I won't deny being spoiled.
- It's only a dinner.
- This is more than enough from me. I promise to try to do this more often.
- I will like it. Let's order something. I'm getting hungry as well.
- It's contagious. - I said, and he laughed
We had dinner for an hour. I felt like I would eat everything until I finished. Later, we did what Jess offered me. She didn't understand what he meant when he said it, but this didn't matter. Both of us liked it. I have forgotten how good it feels to go out with someone. I should do this more often. I will try to spend more time with Bryan and Jess. They deserve it. The thing is that I want to get ready for the small tour and make more music. I already have one song ready. Maybe I can rest and see how it will perform. This is all I can do. I hope that it will be successful.
