“That was definitely an interesting bookshop,” Kevan said when he and Craig were back on the sidewalk. “Why didn’t I know it existed?”
Craig laughed. “You’re asking me?”
Kevan looked around. “No, I was asking her.”
“Asking me what?” the woman in question replied, obviously having overheard Kevan.
“Don’t mind him.” Craig winked. “He’s loopy.” He circled one finger around his ear, earning him a smile from the woman, and a swat on the butt from Kevan.
With that bit of byplay over, Craig and Kevan walked down to the eatery. It was crowded, being a Friday night, but, while Craig waited in line, Kevan managed to squeeze in between two people at the bar to order a couple of beers. He and Craig had finished half of them by the time they were able to get a table.
