During the ride back to the church, Terry and the others were elated at the way everything had gone with the lawyer. Everyone but Rudy, Terry realized. He joined in but there was something in his expression that told Terry he wasn’t as happy as he wanted the others to think.
“Okay, what’s going on with you?” Terry asked Rudy once they were out of the car and alone in the back parking lot of the church, the others having already gone inside. “You’re acting like you’ve…hell…lost your best friend or something.”
