Chapter 9Waking up in Gideon’s arms was like waking up in heaven. He kept his eyes closed out of habit, holding on to his dreams for as long as he could, convinced that when he opened them, everything would be taken from him again. But when he cracked one eye to test the light, Gideon was the first thing he saw. The only thing he saw. The relief and joy at seeing his vampire was the same he had experienced the previous day, and it was almost completely overwhelming. He wanted to wake Gideon. He wanted to see those deep brown eyes.
