Adaline's father joins the breakfast table.
I didn't expect to see him after the eulogy the previous day. I thought he would never show his face anywhere near Adaline again. Unfortunately for Adaline, he did show his face. And he showed his face sooner rather than later at her house.
Now he's sitting at the table, gigantic grin on his face, obviously happy to be here. He doesn't look like someone who just lost his wife.
Ace is the only person who welcomes him warmly. God bless his soul. The rest of us just stare at him blankly, clearly not very happy with his interruption of our family moment. From the look on Adaline's face, I can tell that he invited himself and she's not too happy about it.
“Extravagant.” He looks around. “This house is extravagant.”
