Gabe's Point Of View As the elder and I were walking, I learned that his name was Leroy, and not only did he have a son, but he also had a daughter. His daughter, however, did not make it past her eighteenth birthday. Leroy then began to tell me about his granddaughter and how much she loved to read and paint. You could tell by the way he talked about her he would do anything for her. As we neared the house, he said, "Wait outside. Why I break the news to my son and daughter-in-law. " I watched as Leroy walked into the house, and I stood there taking in my surroundings. The village was beautiful and reminded me of the magazines you would get in the mail with those beautiful destination pictures. The villagers that walked by kept their distance and began to whisper to one another.
