“Son of a b***h,” I snarl as I crumple up the note that Magnus had left. I can’t believe he deceived me and left. I throw back the covers and nearly jump out of bed. Ruby whimpers in my head. ‘Why are you whimpering?’
‘He had a good reason for not wanting us to go,’ Ruby says.
‘No one is dying there, Ruby,’ I argue with her. ‘It’s our right to be there too. My family lives in Ghost River too.’
‘Right,’ She snarls. ‘He shouldn’t have just left like that.’
‘We are going to Ghost River anyways,’ I declare to my wolf and rush into the bathroom. After my morning vomit, I take a quick shower and throw on a pair of jeans and an old t-shirt. I pack a small bag and grab some food to eat on the way to Ghost River. I then head down to the garage to sign out a car.
