I was beyond ecstatic that I was able to track down that stupid earring. Mission accomplished. Never mind the fact that my life is now being held hostage by a psycho killer. Natalie owed me big time. I thought about telling her all about my exciting experience but then I remembered his threat. I don't feel like dying yet and he didn't look like the kind of person who made empty threats so I decided against it. Besides, Natalie was the biggest blabbermouth. The whole town will know about this by sunrise.
I texted her to deliver the good news and went back to the main floor of the club. She met me shortly after.
"I love you, I freaking love you, you sexy thing!" Natalie says as she hugs me after I hand her the precious jewel.
