Eden's POV
With my free hand, I knock on the door, tapping my foot on the floor nervously as I wait for a reply. There is none.
Shit.
I know he’s in there, so perhaps he’s still getting cleaned up. Maybe if I’m quick, I can be in and out before he even sees me.
I decide to take my chances, opening the door into the familiar bedroom. It looks and feels just as it did last night. Dark, warm, and strangely inviting compared to the rest of the house. Luckily, it seems I was right, and the room is empty, with the bathroom door closed.
I head for the desk in a hurry, placing down the plate of food and laying the cutlery out beside it. I am just about to step away to make my escape when the bathroom door opens, releasing a cloud of steam into the air.
