The meeting went on for over an hour. I sat there all the time but I was really itching to get out of there. I tried to listen and comprehend what they were talking about but I could barely process it. From what I barely grasped, they were planning to put up a hotel and resort here in St. Lucia.
"Shall we go and survey the site?" the man called Andres asked.
"Yes please." Samantha immediately answered. They all stood up, so I hesitantly followed. "I wanted the construction to start as soon as possible."
I grabbed Devin's elbow to get his attention.
"What is it?" he whispered.
"I don't want to go. Can I just go back to the room?" I said in a hushed voice so that the others wouldn't hear.
