Chapter 7I wasn’t exactly surprised when I didn’t see Lucas for days. Our shooting schedule meant that we missed each other. He was on set when I had the day off. When I was on set, he was out shooting on location. He was on soundstage one, while I was on soundstage two. This made sense, as we both had to do our jobs, and whatever had happened between us couldn’t interfere with that.
But I was surprised—and a little hurt—that he hadn’t texted or called.
Of course, I hadn’t contacted him either. We never had a conversation about what was next, and I felt it was important to leave it in his hands. When four days went by and he hadn’t said a word to me, I thought it was clear he made his decision. It had been a one-night stand and nothing would come of it.
