Walking into Edmund’s home had never felt so good.
Darby was the first to enter, racing for the bedroom to get out of the costume she had called a modern torture device the entire ride home. Mathias caught Edmund’s eye and chuckled, but hung back so that he could follow her next. For all of his bragging back at the Rio, Mathias hadn’t been entirely sure that the show would play out as it had. He’d prepared himself to lose Edmund for good, and now, with the reality welcoming him into his home and life, Mat was overwhelmed.
“You going to change, too?” he asked as he flopped down on the couch. His leg was aching. Tatiana had been much stronger than he’d remembered. “Because this leather-boy waiter look works for me, just so you know.”
