Chapter 21 - The Loyalty Test
"Are they not invited?" I ask Alec after we're both comfortable in the car, and have started driving towards the exit of the compound. Alec opens his mouth to say something and it's then that I notice the SUV following us out. "Never mind." I quickly add and Alec looks at me with amusement.
It's not long before I start to become fidgety. I'm overwhelmed by this sudden need to fill up the silence with chatter, so that he wouldn't think I'm boring. How and why did I become so insecure, I have no idea, but Alec and all his manly pheromones have started to affect me, big time.
