Former professor and retired prosecutor Fiscal Renato Abricalag Baylon, with the help of Tourism Secretary Panfilo Fernandez, has wasted no time and effort to explain things to Alfredo Apostol, the messenger-clerk of the National Archives and Museum.
“Contrary to the saying that this is a bitter pill to swallow, Alfred,” Fiscal Baylon starts with a certain candidness he has never shown before, “the pill that I am offering you is the magical pill which should, by and large, give you a fresh start – nay, not just a fresh start, but a rebirth! – that you badly, badly need.”
