Chapter 19
Nathaniel stood back, slightly behind the group. He looked at the newlywed couple as they emerged from the cottage to greet their friends. He nervously bit his lower lip as he tried to discern from Jonathan’s behavior and expression what might have transpired in the night just past. He had spent a frightful night of restless tossing and turning. Now, he stood a short distance away from his lover. He needed to know if all was as they were planning. For a brief instant he and Jonathan made eye contact. Jonathan quickly looked away. What was he to glean from that?
