Chapter 18
Somehow, Keira and I got dragged into going on a double date with Sadie and Jennifer. Not that I minded being out with my best friend. Sadie was just still a wild card in my eyes. And something about their relationship rubbed me the wrong way.
It wasn’t out of jealousy. I wanted Jennifer to be happy. And she was. So where was the problem?
“Ugh,” I let out a dramatic groan.
“What?” Keira looked at me, amused. We were on our way to the restaurant. It was very fancy and I was a hundred percent certain that Sadie must have picked the location.
“This is going to be so…” I trailed off, trying to find the words.
“Ugh?” She finished my sentence and smiled, squeezing my hand.
“Yes,” I agreed and laid my head on her shoulder as she drove.
“It won’t be too bad,” she lied.
