That night as we all left our separate ways, I tried to soothe myself knowing that for the time being we were safe. I kept telling myself we will be able to figure this out. It truly scared me, I was set to protect 2 souls Jeff and Kris and I failed. But, I know deep down I did the right thing, they begged me to protect their daughter. I thought the worst night of my life was watching hundreds of people die, in reality the worst night was watching Jennifer and Chelsea from a distance find out their parents had passed. Knowing, I wouldn't be able to help right away.
