CHAPTER SIXLord Grimstone’s house was far larger than Novella had expected. But, as she looked around her, she thought that it was not furnished in particularly good taste. However, as she followed the butler across a large hall, she was aware that there were an inordinate number of servants on duty. The drawing room, to her surprise, was upstairs on the first floor. As she entered, she saw that it was a very large room with windows overlooking the sea. There were several people there already and, as she was announced, Lord Grimstone came towards her.
