Chapter 11

Malcolm POV:

When Lucia mother walk passed me, I just remember that I am in my shadow form.

Stupid me.

I watch her sighed when she studying her daughter for a second before grab her phone from the table.

It's 3AM in the morning, whose she going to call this early?

"Eddy, it's me"

Eddy?

Who's Eddy?

Her lover?

"What do you mean you can't take her? She's your daughter too!" She whispers shout to the other line and it explain everything, this Eddy is Lucia's father.

But what does she mean by 'take her'?

Then Lucia's mother shocked me when she starts sobbing.

"She has no one, Eddy" She cries and I want to shout that she has me so you don't have to worried about Lucia.

Her father an asshole.

"I know she's 18 soon but.." She pause before added "I got brain cancer and won't be here any longer, at least you can give me guarantee that Lucia is okay with you when I'm gone" She shout desperately before we both turn our gaze on the door when we heard gasped and saw the shock Lucia standing behind us.

Shit.

I didn't know she's awake.

"Brain cancer?" She choked and her mother drops the phone when she saw her daughter.

"Lucia.. I.." She stuttered before run to hug her daughter.

"You dying?" She sobbed in her mother's arms "Why you didn't tell me?" My heart breaking at the moment I saw her crying in agony before I turn my head and start moving away from the scene.

Sighing, I can't do anything now. This is their moment.

I just hope it won't crush Lucia heart.

I'm sorry, Lucia. I whisper softly before disappeared from the house.

Tobius already there outside the house when I'm arrived and from his expression, I know he heard the news too.

"I thought you'll be stay with her, Master" He respond and I just shook my head with my eyes still lock on the house where I can hear her cries.

It break my heart for hear her crying like that but I can't do anything to stop human nature.

Aging and dying are human nature for them, we, shadow creature can't stop it unless it was our match.

"It hurts me to see her like that" I respond and feel Tobius eye on me the entire time I speak, I know I sound weak but Tobius the only one who knows me more than the other so I can speak about everything to him "I just give them time to bond more before Laura finally gone" I said and turn my gaze to my bodyguard "Take care of her when I'm going back to the castle for a while"

Tobius nod "Too bad we can't take Laura with us since the laws forbid it" He said sadly, I guess seeing Lucia sad hurting him too. I claim her as mine so my people have the bond with her too, including Tobius who looks protective to her.

"All I can do just cheer her. I just hope it's enough" I comment and take one last glance at the house before disappeared to my castle where I left it on Marcus hand.

I need to make an announcement sooner about Lucia to my people. I know it will hard especially I have to faced my parents but it must be done.

Howl...

I run with the speed of wind and hear my wolves' bodyguard howling loudly before the gate was open. The mist suddenly gone and I can see my huge castle from afar.

I slow my pace when I watch my brother standing in the lobby to greet me along with 10 members.

"Welcome back, my prince" Edward, my loyal member greets me politely and I nod my head before we start walking inside while the other follows me before they start doing their jobs.

"You alone?" Marcus, my brother asked and looks shocked. Everyone knows how protective Tobius to me and never left me alone, so this is the first, but I'm not complain because he has important job to protect my queen right now, she's more important than me.

I nod firmly while I know the other waiting for my answer "He's stay to protect the queen" I speak loudly and everyone nod for their respect and only my brother who follow me to my office.

"Father comes yesterday" Marcus said after he shut the door.

I sighed because I see it coming, rumor will spread quickly about me finding my queen and he would do anything to stop it since he knows it was human.

"What did he say?" I asked shortly and my brother strokes his neck nervously but I hear nothing coming out from his mouth "Marcus?" I demand.

He sighed "He's going to kill the human"

I clench my fist the moment he say the word and hit the table forcedly until it breaks.

"He challenges me" I comment coldly and Marcus quickly raises his hand and backing off, he knows how badly when I am angry.

"Calm down, brother" Marcus says but I didn't hear any words from him.

Rage take me and thinking about someone going to hurt Lucia anger me more, eventhough he is my father, I'm going to kill him.

He dare saying those word to me.

It's his dead invitation.

"JOSHUA! EDWARD!" I shout and call my best and loyal fighter.

"You call, master?" They both speak in union and bow when they appearing in my office.

This is what you want father.

You challenge me.

"Forbid King Damon and his guard to come near my territory" I start and saw Marcus bulge his eyes when he hears it, but I continue "Inform me any moves they have and put a great spy to their place, they dare challenge me and threaten to kill my queen so they're threatening all of us. They're enemy. GO! SPREAD THE WORDS TO ALL OF OUR MEMBERS!" I shout firmly and watch them leave after they nod their head obediently.

"This is necessary, brother?" Marcus asked the moment after Joshua and Edward leaves.

I turn my gaze to my brother who gulped when he sees my blackened eyes "father knows what will happen when someone threaten me and he dare speak those word about killing my queen, this is what he got from the invitation" I answer coldly and added "You, my brother, better not chose any side" I finish my word before leaving him alone in my office and start ordering all of my member about the situation.

No one dare come near or touch what's mine, father or not, I'm going to kill him.

Lucia POV :

I slowly close the door after I watch my mother asleep peacefully on her bed.

Sighing, I lean on the door before start moving to my own bed.

It's been a week since I know the news about her condition.

It explain why she needs to go to out of town for weeks or month before, she had therapy but lie to me by saying she at work.

She lose her job for 6 month to do the therapy but it stopped responding last month and doctor said that she has another 6 months before it getting worst.

6 months...

Oh God, I always thought of leaving her when I'm 18 and grown up to has my own apartment, but I don't mean her death so I can fully alone.

Although I hate to touch my father's money, I finally use it for her medicine.

I hate my father more since he wants nothing from us and just say that he will keep sending the money until I am 21 years old.

I just call my teacher and school about me moving here since I don't know; I guess this place is better than the city for my mother health.

She fought me that I have to move in the local school here since she wants me to experience my senior year in the city not in the small town like Dingle that has nothing, but I explain that I don't want that experience, I only want my time with her as a good as I can remember.

Everything has changed.

My life change but I don't regret it.

"I love you, mom" I whisper before close my eyes and let the darkness take me to the dream where I know I won't feel the pain from the reality.

"You're leaving?"

I turn my head and smile when I see him there lean on my mother's old car.

"Morning, Tobius" I greet him cheerfully and saw him studying the car for a second.

'Something wrong with the car?" He asked and folds up his hand shirt before start checking my car.

"It won't start" I explain and saw him nod before helping me with the car.

For these past 3 days Tobius start acting like a bodyguard or brother to me. He explains that Malcolm has important works and need to go to other country for at least a week or longer.

I was sad because Malcolm said about meeting me again the next morning, but suddenly he's gone. I know I can't complain since I'm not his girlfriend or something more, but I'm glad to have Tobius with me.

He know something make me sad but didn't push me to talk more and just say that everything will be okay and it was the word that I need from friend since I don't have anyone closer in this town.

Phil and Cindy come everyday to chat with us and I guess they both didn't know the real situation of my mother. They were shock when we say about moving to the place and I can see Phil start giving my mother more attention like sending flower and food for us which is sweet but sad in the other time.

My mother knows about Phil attention but never gave him more because she said it's not fair for him.

"There" Tobius words snap me from my mind and I smile when he start the car and it works.

"Wow.. Thank you" I shout happily.

"Where are you going?" He asked when he closes the dashboard and I give him a wet towel.

"Nowhere, just check if I need it urgently" I answer him with a smile and saw him nod.

Tobius sat in the nearest chair under the tree beside the garage after I give him a cold drink since he helped me with my mother's car.

"Thanks" He said when I shove the glass of water to him and he drinks it in one gulp.

I chuckled before take a seat beside him.

"How's work?" I asked and saw him smile.

"It's good, as always"

"So how long you work in the Black's family?" I start the conversation while drinking the coke with him.

He shrugged "You can say my whole life"

"Wow"

He chuckled "That shocked?"

"Yeah" I nodded "How was it?"

"The job or the Black's family?" He asked back and I shrugged.

"Both, I guess"

He gave me a small smile before he talks "I don't know about the other family because Master Malcolm was my first and last boss since he save me long ago"

"When it happen?"

"1796"

"What?!"

"I mean.. at 1996" He fix it quickly and stood up "I have to go. Works"

I just nod and didn't say anything when he walking away from my grandmother's house.

1796.

I know I hear it clearly that he said 1796.

I guess right, they must be aren't human.

Third Party POV :

"That's her" I frowned when I realize that Malcolm Black's queen is a mere human.

I chuckle thinking about the reaction for knowing that Damon's heir having a human as his queen.

Evelyn also going crazy when she knows she loses him from human.

Oh God, it's getting exciting.

"Done checking her, Master Lucas?" I don't need to turn around to know Malcolm best guard who I saw with the human before, Tobius, find me watching his soon to be queen.

"Greeting, Tobius" I speak with amusement "I should have known that Malcolm will put his best guard to protect the human, especially now after the king himself declare to kill her" I explain before turn around and meet his eye.

"And I hope you're here as a friend, Lucas, not enemy" Another voices speak and join the conversation.

Malcolm standing there looking dangerously with his black aura and I know this is the man that we not want to messed with.

Swush...

Malcolm sword quickly pointed on my neck before I can open my mouth to speak.

"Speak.. before you loses your head and I assure you that this is not just sword but the one that can kill our creature since this is the dark sword, Satan himself who gave me this sword" Malcolm threatened coldly and I know he serious going to cut my head if I'm not speaks sooner.

"Malcolm.." I start and the prince only raises his brow to show me that he listened.

His actions show me more that the human is important.

The girl is in danger.
